We all love when the Advent Wreath is lit during Mass - we can just feel the joy of Christmas coming closer as the candle glow grows stronger each week.  We know that the candles are purple with the 3rd candle a rose color for Gaudete Sunday, or "Rejoice".  Here is a great article from the Catholic Education Resource Center about how it all began.
